Setup

Set up AccessOwl in PurpletGo

  1. 1

Open Integrations, go to Access Revocation Apps, and click Connect.

  2. 2

Choose AccessOwl, enter the API token, and confirm your password.

Good to know

  • AccessOwl finishes its revocations after it accepts the request, so a revocation run reports the offboarding as started, and PurpletGo reads it back afterwards until AccessOwl shows it offboarded.
  • The apps reached are the ones AccessOwl manages, and what is read back is AccessOwl's own record of them: PurpletGo does not check each app separately.
  • A token created with read permission connects but cannot offboard, because the permission is fixed when the token is made.
  • Beta on this site: the connector is covered by its own tests and reads the person back after every revocation, and it is generally available in the product. It is held back here because the home page shows every Live revoking connector with its brand mark, which AccessOwl has not supplied.

Why this matters

Most of the apps a company actually runs on have no connector anywhere, and they are the ones that keep a login alive for months after somebody leaves. Going through the access governance tool that already holds those connections reaches them in one step instead of one integration at a time.
