What it does

What PurpletGo does in GitLab

Remove a departing employee from your GitLab group, and on self-managed GitLab lock the account instance-wide. This integration is in beta.

What you need

  • A personal access token with the api scope from a group Owner, or an administrator token for instance-wide lockout.
  • The ID of the group to manage, and your instance URL if self-hosted.

Setup

Set up GitLab in PurpletGo

  1. 1

Open Integrations, go to Access Revocation Apps, and click Connect.

  2. 2

Choose GitLab, enter the access token, group ID, and optional instance URL, and confirm your password.

Good to know

  • Only direct members of the one configured group are removed.
  • Without an administrator token, users are matched by public email or enterprise email only.
  • Confirm the removal in GitLab after revoking while this integration is in beta.

Why this matters

Source code and CI configuration in GitLab are among the most sensitive things a departing engineer can still reach if group access is left in place.
